Ms. Asnaha Farheen

Head of PYP & PYP Coordinator

Ms. Asnaha Farheen has started her career in the realm of education more than 10 years back as a PYP educator. She moved from strength to strength building her skills as an educator and now as a pedagogical leader. In this journey of learning and teaching, she wore different hats and grew immensely.

With this long tenure in the IB Primary Years Program, she participated dynamically in the Candidacy, Authorization and Evaluation process of many schools as a leader. She has supervised MYP personal project and also conducted PD sessions on “differentiated teaching and learning instructions” for the teachers of elite schools. Her participation in SAIBSA Job Alike Session in Hyderabad, India as a facilitator was an amazing experience for the teachers of other IB Primary Schools.

Equipped with a major in Chemistry with a second position in the college merit list and Bachelors in Math and Science ,She was drawn towards international Methodology further honed her teaching skills through various IB PYP Workshops like Making the PYP Happen ,Written Curriculum .Assessment in PYP and The role of the coordinator. Workshop on differentiated teaching and learning by Ms. Carolyn Coil enhanced her views towards promoting the better learning environment for all and as leader she navigates her team to curb down “One size fits all” approach. Participation in IB network fraternity as a network chair for Bangladesh – Pakistan network gave her great insights and enhanced her leadership skills. She believes in lifelong learning and has an inclination towards writing for pleasure which enabled her to participate with wider IB community as two of her article were handpicked to publish in Sharing PYP Blog – an official International Baccalaureate Blog. Her latest podcast – IB Matters was recorded in Minnesota and she shared her views about the significance of building a culture of collaboration in IB PYP Schools. Her article in the School News Magazine enlightened the learning community about the unique features of the IB Primary Years Program

She trusts in social entrepreneurship and strives to inculcate the same in her team as they are steered towards creating better learning opportunities in the AKMIS community which will enable our learners to meet the needs of this changing and challenging world..
